Best Friends Already!

Abby & Lia - Best friends just like their mommy's!

Christmas 2010

We had such a wonderful Christmas! We were surrounded  by family and friends which made it so much fun! We did miss Baby Jude, Julie and Ruben, but were able to meet up a few days later. The boys were so ecstatic about Christmas this year. They really got into the spirit of giving which made it all the more fun. I enjoyed all our Christmas traditions - new and old. This year I planned a Castle/Knight themed Christmas, the boys love their Castle and Knights and Dragons! They also enjoyed watching "How To Train Your Dragon" which was a huge hit. It  was a wonderful day of smiles and coming together as family to worship our King! Gabe and his new glider! A Knights Castle! Abby's first doll! Drew finally got a Transformer! Great Nana and Little Abby Trains & Dinosaurs! Fun with Mr. Howard! Just What I Wanted! A Spy Glass! Not sure who had more fun John and Howard or the little boys? The Boys opening Mrs; Kelly...

From Our Home To Yours 2010

Christmas 2010 Life with little's is never boring; there are always unplanned adventures just waiting around corners, ready to “jump” me when I’m least expecting it. Take this Christmas letter for example; I’ve been trying to write it since Thanksgiving. Every time I sit down with my “pen” -- craziness happens! I have finally shut myself up in my office, determined to get something remotely lucid down on paper! As I sit here, my little peanut Abby, is sleeping in her car seat for the 14 th night in a row, she has had RSV since the end of September. The virus seems to circulate her system about every 3 weeks! Our middle child Gabe spent the day coughing his little lungs out from the change in temperature – his asthma is flaring up badly this Fall/Winter. While getting Gabe ready for bed, he threw up his entire dinner on his yellow ducky towel, while our oldest, Drew, flew back and forth on the rope swing in his room -- totally unscathed by the mishap. After cleaning Gabe up...

Common Blessings (Part 2)

I wish that life should not be cheap,  but sacred.   I wish the days to be as centuries,  loaded, fragrant.    Ralph Waldo Emerson 638.  Water is a natural resource that most of the worlds population is not blessed to have access to. This week we were without water for a mere 24 hours. A pipe connection underground had burst close to our water main and we had to shut off the water to our house until John could fix the problem. The water man arrived the following morning, he was such a blessing, turning on the water for us briefly so I could flush some toilets and add some water to our bath tub. He felt very sorry for me and said, " Mam, will your husband be fixing it today, you can't go without water for too long, especially with all your children!" He was deeply concerned and felt terrible leaving me alone without water, he even said he was in the neighborhood today and could run over and turn the water on it I needed it. After he h...

Sweet Memories

This Christmas season has been so joyful. The boys are at wonderful ages, their questions are so delightful and their fascination with all things Christmas is so attractive. I just love watching their faces as they delight in simple pleasures like Hot Cocoa or The Polar  Express or wrapping gifts or taking candy and letters to neighbors. It is so enticing to just be in their simple little world and enjoy moments and memories. These few weeks of December have brought us lots of fun and adventures - from baking to visiting friends to special gingerbread ornaments. We've been enjoying the season and relaxing a lot at home reading tons of Christmas books and enjoying our Jesse Tree. The kids are really getting into their little routines. Every night Gabe asks if we can read the Bible - how cute is that! We've always had Bible time before bed (short 10 minute readings from the Jesus Story Book Bible) but he is really enjoying our Adornaments and Jesse Tree reading too. I lov...
