We Are Expecting!

Yes, the news is true. Drew will be a big brother! We are due December 11, and are currently 8 weeks along. I will post his/her first pictures tomorrow after our doctor's appointment. We will also know soon what exactly this pregnancy could entail, I know for sure I will be on progesterone injections each week, but I don't know when those will start. We are praying that this pregnancy is much simpler than our last - though the pain was worth having little Drew. Speaking of Drew, he has turned into our little helper! He is always willing to listen and obey, he has been putting his milk cup in the fridge, throwing things away, he even helped me make the bed. His attitude has been wonderful, he has hardly had any fits and has been using his manners like "please" and thank you." He is also routinely saying "yes mommy" when I ask him to do something! Such a joy to be around! Drew enjoyed spending all day with Daddy yesterday while mommy went scrapbooking wi...

Gratefulness

"Thou that has given so much to me, Give one thing more--a grateful heart; Not thankful when it pleases me, As if Thy blessings had spare days; But such a heart, whose pulse may be Thy praise." George Herbert Lord, make me a woman of thankfulness. I so often dwell on the negative and forget that Your will is being perfected and molded into my heart. Thank you for pushing me out of the safety net and allowing me to experience flight.

Case Solved

John solved the case! For the past three weeks Drew has been asking for "Ka..Ka's" and we couldn't figure out what he was asking for. He only asked for it when Daddy was home, normally around dinner time. One evening John was napping and Drew climbed in bed with him begging for "Ka .. Ka's" but we had not idea what he wanted. Drew cried and cried, but we still didn't know what he wanted. This Tuesday morning John had off, so he got Drew up in the morning and asked him what he wanted to beakfast. To which. Drew replied "Ka...Ka's, Daddy." John when down the list of a few breakfast foods ... "waffles, cereal, oatmeal, pancakes." Then Drew jump up and down, " Yes Daddy, Ka..Ka's." It appears that for three weeks Drew has been begging us for pancakes! How funny! John blesses us often with a morning breakfast of "Daddy's famous Pancakes" and Drew was just letting us know those are his favorite and he wou...

Easter & Family Life

For the month of April John and I are fasting, we wanted to see what life, and our checkbook would look like without television, spending money, going to Starbucks, eating out, etc. The first week was awful, but now that we are almost two weeks into the fast some good things are happening - a few more closets are organized, our savings so far total approx. 300.00, Drew & Kitty are enjoying all the extra walks, and John's garage is actually fairly clean! My hunger for sugar has diminished and I am actually finding some fun in making meals with the ingredients I have on hand. So far we have only spent 37.50 in groceries and nothing for eating out. We have saved about 20.00 on gasoline, even with the prices rising! I wish I could say the pounds are falling off too, but it hasn't happened yet. We aren't really fasting from sugar, but trying to eat a lot of organic foods, poultry, nuts, and whole grains. I do have more energy and haven't ingested caffeine for two weeks -...
This past week has been so fun! My Grandma Patti came for a visit. She took me to the park and let me get all muddy! We read books and played in the backyard. On Wednesday Mommy took the day off work and we went to Story Time and the Library and then drove 45 minutes to Garland to pick up some plants. Then we came home and spent the afternoon planting. Grandma, Daddy and I finished building mommy's blower boxes in the backyard while mommy planted and spread about 100 bags of dirt. We have tons of fun getting muddy! I am now speaking in sentences about 30% of the time. I have also changed mommy's name to Mom. Yesterday I found a weird object in the back yard, I took it to mom and said "Mom, what is it?" as I proudly held out my dead June bug. Mommy told me it was a dead bug. I then ran around the house yelling "dead bug... dead bug." It was so cute that Mommy had to call Daddy on the phone and let him listen. I found a Lego man in the bathtub yesterday and p...
